QR check-in

Attendance that can't be faked, in one scan.

The organiser shows a QR code at the venue; players scan it and they're in. The code is live and personal to the admin showing it — a screenshot stops working within two minutes, and nobody can check themselves in. Attendance is the real list of who played, so teams, stats and the leaderboard are built on it.

Organiser's phone showing the event QR, a player scanning it, and the check-in flashing on screen

Live, per-admin code

Refreshes every 30 seconds and names the admin showing it — screenshots and printouts don't work.

No self check-in

An admin's own QR refuses their own account; another admin checks them in.

Paid at the gate

A required ticket or dues that's unpaid blocks the scan and offers a way to pay right there.

Instant feedback

The organiser's screen flashes each check-in, with level and streak beside the name.

Show the code, scan, play

Open the event on the organiser's phone or laptop and the check-in QR is right there. Players open the app's scanner or their camera, scan, and get a confirmation with what they earned. Guardians can scan once for themselves and each of their wards.

  • Works in the SportPadi app and from the web scan page
  • Guardians check in their wards in the same scan
  • The organiser sees who let each player in

Built to stop the easy cheats

Each admin's QR is signed and short-lived, so a photo of it stops working within two minutes, and an admin can't check themselves in from a second phone. Unpaid required tickets and unresolved fines block the scan with a clear reason and a way to fix it.

  • Codes expire; only a live screen of a signed-in admin checks people in
  • Admins check each other in — never themselves
  • Tickets, dues and fines gate the scan automatically

Attendance that does the work

Who scanned in is who gets placed on a team, counted in stats and ranked on the leaderboard. Late arrivals can keep scanning after kick-off on plans with the player pool, and organisers can remove a check-in if someone leaves.

  • Teams are built from checked-in players only
  • Late scans land in the available pool
  • Monthly check-ins are unlimited on paid plans

FAQ

Questions about qr check-in

Can a player check in from home?

No. The QR is only shown on an organiser's screen at the venue, and each code expires within about two minutes, so a shared screenshot doesn't work.

Can the organiser check themselves in?

Not by scanning their own code — the system knows whose screen the QR is on. Another admin's QR lets them in, and the record shows who let them in.

What if a player has no phone?

Another player can't scan for them, but a guardian can scan for their wards, and organisers can add a player by hand when that option is enabled for the group.

Is there a limit?

Free groups get a monthly check-in allowance; paid plans are unlimited.
